![]() ![]() No baffle will increase your top end, but at the expense of midrange power. The sound difference isn't all that great (tho I do prefer the louder option), but more important is the loss of midrange power the lack of a db killer (baffle) will cause. It can get expensive to reflash over and over, so take the snork off won't make that much difference in power, that you have to fear it, but it will save you some $. Everytime you make any mod to the intake/exhaust you must reflash, other than just the slip on. You should do your intake mod BEFORE you reflash, even if it's just the snork removal. If it's a 'slip on', you don't need the reflash, but if it's a full akro that includes the header pipes and NO catalytic converter, then yes, you do need the reflash. If your akro is the full system, made exclusively for the MT/FZ07 and has the included catalytic converter, then you don't need the reflash. ![]() OK, very good advice for a new rider, etc. The thing is i bought it used and it came with the exhaust on it but the guy never tuned it ! Also proper gear is taken care of!! I can't recommend good leather gear enough. That crash made my brain expect pain, but when I hit the track it felt like I fell into a pile of feathers. I used to wear armored jeans when riding, but ever since my first crash at the supermoto track when I was wearing leather pants and a heavy leather jacket, I don't ride in any other gear. I just got back from getting my second Moderna vaccine and took the long way home, enjoying hearing the wind rather than exhaust noise. Yamaha did a darned good job of building an all-around excellent motorcycle that I find a real pleasure to ride in stock form, and I've been riding for 43 years. As Pursuvant said, spend your effort on learning to ride safely and getting good riding gear. I feel this way even more since you're a new rider. I think it's a mistake for any rider to modify a motorcycle at all before riding it for a substantial amount of time as-is. ![]() If you guys could explain answers to my questions and give me recommendations that would be great ! One of my main objectives though is to not get my front wheel up. Some questions are does it make the bike smoother in general like smoother throttle response? Also i hear people saying it decreases engine braking severely Im not even sure what engine braking is to be honest ? Also it removes all gear based and speed dependent restrictions as well as the TRE what does this do? Basically im trying to make the bike work perfect with my setup and make it run smooth and safe. I am not a fan of wheelies and I never want them to happen! I decided to leave the snorkel in since im a beginner rider don't really want to add to much extra power. Keep in mind I am a new rider this is my first bike and haven't really rode it to much yet. The main reason I want to do the tune is to adjust the fuel to air ratio to accommodate my new exhaust.
